NJ Artist Kyoko Bartley’s Latest Solo Show at Small World Coffee on Witherspoon St. in Princeton, NJ

Kyoko is a local artist and an educator. She is an art instructor at Princeton Adult School, and also she is a teacher at Princeton Community Japanese Language School.

From February 5 to March 3 2020, she will be displaying her various artworks at Small World Coffee at Witherspoon, Princeton, New Jersey.

Although she has worked in a variety of mediums, these years she mainly creates American Comic art and animal portraits with pencil, pen and paper. She is donating 20% of the proceeds from the sale of animal portraits to local animal shelters.

She is hoping this show with her work in simple media will raise awareness of animal environments and the possibilities for expression.

About Kyoko

Kyoko Bartley lives in the Princeton area in New Jersey with her husband and daughter. Currently she works as an artist, educator, Japanese writer, and a local volunteer for helping mothers through the local Japanese community.

She was heavily influenced by American comics and movies and has been doing arts and crafts since she was very young. She describes herself as a “crafts-person” type of artist.

Kyoko started movie making, working as a freelance illustrator and as a photographer when she was in high school. She majored in American cultural studies with a focus on cinema and visual iconography and visited major studios in Hollywood, Burbank, Glendale, and NYC as a scholarship recipient.

As an independent artist, she has created character designs and illustrations for publications.
