This piece is a detailed sketch of a banana…
When I teach young art students, I often strongly recommend to continue sketching like this every day at least 3 years.
I started this habit since I was a 9. And never stopped until the earthquake hits Japan March of 2011. The weeks of blackout enabled me to do this.
So if you are looking for the way to establish your drawing skills, please try to draw with only pencil and paper, as much as detailed.
After some months, you will feel your eyes, hands and pencils are connected, and discover you are “looking” at things more carefully and curious.
That’s one of skills that good artists should have . If you don’t have keen enough sense, you would not be able to reflect your messages into your work. Such artwork are unfortunately lacking of the function as a method of communication and also as an artwork.
If you would like me to draw something similar, feel free to contact me.
